Save More Water

Any planet is liveable and lovable with water!

Earlier we campaigned—save water. Now let’s do it with an extra sensible word—save more water—because we have more population than ever.

Let’s bring the concept of minimalism to the consumption of water too. It makes a lot of sense. Water is the elixir of life. Be it a mission to mars or the moon, the first thing astronauts investigate is the presence of the precious drops.

Of the whole vastness of water visible on the earth, fresh water is only about 2.7 per cent. This minor percentage of water keeps us alive. While one part of the world has more rainfalls, water scarcity is scaring the other in the world. Affluence of water does not signify overconsumption. Every drop is precious.

Start with loo
The biggest consumer of water in your home is the flush. Ideally—to save water—use a cistern displacement device that inflates and saves approximately one or two litres of water each time the toilet is flushed.

Saver shower
Baths and showers cause more water consumption at home. A 50-minute shower sends about 50-litre water down the drain. An efficient aerated or low-flow shower head is the best advisable alternative to cut consumption of water.

Watering garden
Have you observed how much water goes to your plants every day? Sprinklers deliver more water to nature. By fixing a trigger nozzle to your hosepipe, reduce the amount of water considerably. Anyway, it is not the plants that have to be watered but the roots.

Check leaks
There can be water dripping off the taps, or leakage can be there somewhere in the pipe. Regular monitoring can prevent careless wasting of precious water. Plug leaks as soon as they are noticed.

Dishwasher or laundry
Be it dishwashers or washing machines, look for ones that can save water. For hand-washing, fill water in a bucket and use the same water more than if it is good. Normally, hand-washing clothes can take less water than using a washing machine.

Reduced wastage
When manufacturing goods or producing crops in the farmland, water is vital. We can hardly imagine farming without water. A great percentage of water goes to farmlands too. While wasting food or throwing manufactured goods, we cause more farming and production of goods. On the other hand, wastages indirectly cause wastage of water.

In a nutshell, be water-wise. Join the bandwagon of change. Save more water.
